Advertising Agreements

What is an Agreement? An Agreement gives you a percentage discount on each non-special-section ad in exchange for your commitment to run more than one ad within a year.  You receive the discount immediately for each issue in which you have an ad.

You may run any type of ads (classified or display) and any size ads and even more than one ad each issue.  Since you can run more than one ad in an issue, this allows you to skip an issue if that's appropriate for you.

The only requirement for an Agreement is to run some kind of ad at least the number of times you've agreed to run during the year. The year starts with the first issue you establish your agreement.

Every non-special-section ad you run during the year after the agreed number will also be discounted at your Agreement percentage.

Note: Special section ads do not get a discount but they do count toward the total number of ads you agree to run, so it is important to consider and count these when establishing a multi-ad agreement.

If you do not have an Agreement, you will automatically receive a Progressive discount on your non-special-section ads.  This discount is less than an Agreement discount, of course, but it may be the most appropriate if you are not comfortable committing to an Agreement.

The Progressive Discount works as follows: After a year, if an issue is missed, your rate will revert back to the full (open) rate.  If you continue to advertise without missing an issue, you will continue to get the appropriate Progressive discount.  At that point you may want to consider a 4-time Agreement to begin getting the higher discount.

If you are not able to run the number of times you have agreed to run, then the discount you received on ads already run will have to be billed.  You won't be billed the entire discount amount but will, instead, be billed the amount left over after we calculate a Progressive discount for your ads.  That will give you some discount but not as good as the Agreement would have.

Obviously setting up an Agreement takes some thought.
