How to Order a Classified Ad:

1. You send us what you want your ad to say and the enhancements you want.  Send this via the online order form, or by email to howell@kansastraveler.com or by ground mail.  We don't want to take ads over the phone because it's too easy for us to make a mistake.
2. We create your ad and send you a quote.  If you have email and can read PDF files, we'll send you a PDF showing how your ad will look in the paper.
3. You approve the ad or ask for changes until it is the way you want it.
4. We email you an invoice or you simply pay for the ad by mailing a check or by using your Paypal account (sending payment to howell@kansastraveler.com).
5. We run your ad.
6. You reap the benefits of advertising in Kansas Traveler.

Classified Ad Rates (2008):

The following rates are for each ad per issue.

• Commercial Rate: For businesses or individuals.
  • $25 for up to 20 words.
  • 50 cents each additional word.
   
• Not-for-profit: 10% discount for organizations or communities. 
  An official not-for-profit status isn't required.  Ask for this rate if you think you qualify.

How some special words are counted:

• Phone number is strongly recommended (including area code) and counts as two words.
• Email and website addresses each count as three words.
• ALL CAPS: Each word counts as two words.
   
  

Enhancements:

• 50 cents additional per word for bold, italicized, big, or colored (red or blue) words.

  Note: Advertisers with a 4-time (4x) Agreement are not charged for italics.

• $1.00 for each centered line or blank line.
• $40 a column-inch for graphics (photos and logos) that you supply.
• $10 for a border.
• $10 for a locater map. (They look like this , showing, of course, your area of Kansas.)

We reserve the right to refuse any ad.  We don't accept ads in poor taste or of questionable legality.  Nor do we accept ads that do not seem to fit our objective of informing the traveler about something of interest in Kansas.  For example, we won't accept an ad to sell a dishwasher.
 
Advertising rates are non-commissionable.  All rates are net.
